Spring 2009

We've made it through another winter!  The horses are shed out and the sun is shining on the green grass!  We've already had 2 clinics with Brad Cutshall.  Remington is preparing to show 4th level this fall, but like always, Brad is pushing us and bringing out our best!  The last clinic was a complete high for me when he had me ride pirouettes one-handed (and complete them in the required 6-8 strides!).  We also were able to do the canter half-pass zig-zag from the I1!  Now if I could just learn to count so I can get my tempis!  Stuart is the horse I will be campaigning the majority of the season.  He is learning flying changes and getting stronger and stronger with each ride!

Another show season is in full swing!  We had a great schooling show, and Stuart was a STAR at his first recognized show at Otter Creek May 9th and 10th.  He received a 71.%% in First 4 and 64% in Second 1!  Quite a big jump from Intro level last fall!  Next, we are off to Sundance in Lake Elmo, and then I take the girls (and 1 boy :))to the State 4-H hunt/dressage show in Sheboygan!  Don't forget the 4-H schooling show June 6th at the fairgrounds!

Milly will be heading home soon, and we hope to see her again next fall.  Jewels is back with her SON, Twister, so Brandi (like Breanna with Khajun and Cecelia, AND me with Rem and Stuart) is busy working 2 horses!  We were happy to welcome Cindy and her gelding, Otis to our herd last month.  He's a welcome addition, making friends easily (with everyone but Rem...)  Stella's 1st birthday came and went...  time flies!  She's as tall as her mother now and getting prettier every day.

X halt salute!!
