Our boarding rate is flexible to meet the individual needs of our clients, from fully bedded box stall to straight pasture. We remain a small farm so that each boarder and their horse can become a "member" of our family and are provided the quality care and attention we believe each horse (and owner) deserves!
Lessons
Lessons are taught in the basics of dressage, which promotes harmony between horse and rider. Western riders can benefit from dressage and learning to used their aids effectively to get the most performance from their horse. Private Lessons are approximately 1 hour and includes grooming, tacking, riding, and caring for the student's mount. The initial focus is on safety, and understanding the nature of the horse's behavior. It is a priority to work with parents and students to reach their own personal goals.
Training
Training is also provided on an individual basis to meet the needs of the owner. Basic groundwork is necessary, and Julie works with each horse to be respectful and mannerly in a variety of situations. Groundwork is based in dressage, which is similiar to the popular names like Lyons, Parelli, or Anderson. Like groundwork, under saddle, each horse is treated as an individual with its own learning style and special skills. Basic goals like softness, flexibility, and attention to the aides can be achieved with time and patience. We feel it's also important to work with the owner throughout the process. If they are a part of the training, when they return home, the training remains effective and understood.
